LOL! MKR favourites David and Betty can’t find time to watch the show as it’s on too frequently

EVEN the stars of Seven’s cooking juggernaut My Kitchen Rules are fatigued with the seemingly never-ending series.

Outspoken “just friends” duo Betty Banks and David Vu, who were last night announced as the only NSW representatives in final four including Amy and Tyson Murr, Valerie and Courtney Ferdinands, and Tim Attiwill and Kyle McLean, said the show is on too frequently for them to commit to regular viewing.

“We do try and watch it, but it is a lot of days during the week,” Banks said of MKR, which often airs for over 10 hours per week.

“It is a lot of time, the people who always watch it are really dedicated.

“We have to play catch up. By the time we’ve seen it on catch up, people are going ‘Did you see this bit, did you see that?’ and we’re just laughing at ourselves, we can’t remember what part it was,” the newly minted reality personality admitted.

Vu told Confidential that both halves of the cooking duo have no plans to return to their day jobs, and intend to use their 15 minutes of fame to leverage a career across food and television.

“Having gone on a show like this, you have to make the most of the opportunities you can.

“I’ve been trying out for the show for the last six years, and now I’ve done it I’m really keen to pursue everything that comes of it,” he explained.

While “Insta-famous” Banks is used to attention from random members of the public, Vu said he was enjoying his new-found fame.

“Betty was already kind of Insta-famous, so it’s not that weird for her, people recognizing her.

“But for me, it’s great. People are really nice, they all want us to do well,” he said.
